  1. The shut off solenoid does not stop fuel flow to the bowl. It shuts off fuel to the main jet tube in order to prevent backfires when the key is turned off. The only thing that stops fuel flow to the bowl is the float needle pressing against the needle seat or the fuel shut off valve if one is installed.

  2. Push out the main jet from behind (out of the plastic housing). There is an oring around that jet. Check its condition. If the oring is bad the new jet is $20.You can't buy the oring separately. Check the schematic. It's hard to see, but it's off to the right of the carb diagram.
