In this video I show you the proper linkage configuration on a 7 HP Tecumseh engine on a snowblower. I also briefly demonstrate how to adjust the engine speed governor.

  1. Can you show how to remove that carb from that specific engine? I was checking gas was in bowl in mine and dropped some parts and it appears that unless it's off it's difficult to reassemble. I just don't see how it comes off with muffler in way, hard to work around things. It's a tecumseh h70 for sure, red from a toro 724 snowblower.

  2. Very helpful also took our carb off for cleaning months ago on the exact same snowblower and forgot how to put the throttle linkage back together. The manual was not helpful at all, but I think I got it after watching this!

  3. my throttle linkage is a mess. the governor has rusted stiff and the spring is so loose. is the butterfly linkage the part that allows fuel into the motor? i might have to make my own linkage bc the motor is going in a go kart

  4. Hi Dony,

    I have subscribed.

I have a '71 Ariens with a 7 hp Tecumseh with linkage virtually identical to this video. It helped me confirm my setup was correct.

I haven't looked at all your videos (maybe seen about 100 by now) but do you have a video that outlines how either the pulley side or flywheel side oil seals can be removed and new ones installed for the 7 hp Tecumseh or perhaps any 5 to 8 hp older Tecumseh.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  5. My MTD has a similar throttle lever, but it vibrates out of full throttle and I have to move it back up to full throtle. No way to really tighten it where the lever assy pivotss.Any ideas.

  6. i have an Ariens that looks just like this one i had it hook up just like that but i didn't think it was right i will try it again and see if it works.

  7. these motors make great gokart motors cuz u can put a stronger spring and achieve higher rpm's but these motors also have bad connecting rod problems

  8. First i worked on this system it came in parts indeed.
Real pain in the ass and an unnecessary difficult setup.

  9. DON I LOVE THAT CLOSE UP PHOTOGRAPHY, GOOD LIGHTING. GOOD TIMELY SPEAKING SPEED; ALL AROUND YOU'VE GOT A GREAT SITE HERE! Thanks man. Tim.

  10. The old Tecumsehs ran forever and were super tough. My dad had an old Ariens that I used when I was a teenager. It took all the punishment I could dish out. And I really abused it.
