Process to adjust the governor on a small engine. This Ferris mover has a Briggs and Stratton 26 hp. The body surrounds and whole rear and makes it difficult to reach the governor for proper adjustment. Adjusting the governor will also adjust your throttle response and allow you to lower the rpm. You can use other size extensions or a 3/8″ rachet but using the 1/4″ seems to work best for this mower. When adjusting, make sure the throttle is at full and everything gets turned clockwise. Once you loosen the jam nut, turn the governor clockwise also and retighten the nut.
