  1. Nice vid, Simon.  I've watched a bunch of videos on this topic and yours is the only one I've seen that gave a logical explanation as to why replacing the gasket fixes the surging problem, even when the gasket looks fine at first glance.

  2. Thanks so much for your video and explanation. Just got a Briggs & Stratton 450 series running again. The bigger bolt was undone by a 13mm socket and the smaller one a 10mm socket. Think they're technically 1/2 and 3/8 but I only have metric socket to hand so they were close enough.

  3. Thank you very much for your video, I gave the same mower which has developed a similar problem, I will try the gasket replacement. It was very smoky too so a good clean up, I had changed the oil but wondering if other filters are needed.thanks again for the vid and the clear explation. Cheers Mike
