  1. I have been looking at this engine of mine for a year now trying to find the numbers!! (valve cover) Thank you very much now to get to figuring out what is wrong with it and get some parts!!

  2. I am happy that I could help. Some time soon, I will begin rebuilding one of these and I will share the videos here. Thanks for watching.

  3. I'm having issues with mine not running off of choke, and my exhaust is getting red hot? I've already been threw the carb nothing wrong there?

  4. I can't say for sure… but it sounds like you are running lean. If the carb is running lean, it is starving for fuel. That would explain why it needs choke on and why there is a red hot exhaust.

  5. Sorry about that. Only you can decide if it's worth your time and money. Maybe I should buy it from you (at junk sale prices that is 🙂 )

  6. And b&s should just stick to pilutting them # on the front shroud the intek motors are ok but don't run as reliable as my 1958 briggs and stratton 3.25 hp

  7. Dude your a freaking life saver i have the same engine for my go cart and i am going to repair and i couldn't find my manual and so with the numbers from yours i can I FREAKING THANK YOU FOR POSTING

  8. How much am I supposed to adjust the pressure or piston of the engine. Not sure how to explain for an engine Briggs and stratton intek 190 5.5 hp

  9. I just wanted to say thanks The stamping is so light as to be invisible. My engine actually had the numbers stamped on to the right hand side of the valve cover so it was blocked by the carb/airfilter assemblies. Briggs and Stratton, how I love and hate them simultaneously.

  10. Yeah.boy. Mine was stamped on the opposite side of the valve cover and thus facing the air filter housing. I really was stumped. Dang near impossible to read because of the clearance. Wife said "stick your iPhone in there and take a picture" and by golly that worked. Also the family sticker was way down on the bottom of the housing and unreadable until I stuck the same phone in there and took a photo of that. Welcome to the 21st century with a nineteenth century brain;-)
