Got the parts in thanks to Jim’s Antique Air Cooled Engine Parts. I started the reassembly, ran into a few glitches, and then it started bloody raining so I quickly had to get everything inside where it was finished up.
The only problem now is that the carby is fubared. I have to find a PROPER rebuild kit for a SMALL Flo-Jet to stop the flooding issues, possibly a governor spring, make a new linkage from the air vane to the throttle, as well as a new sediment bowl assembly. the original leaks like a sieve. But it does run nicely when I had it going.
Of course, the high temp header paint burned off as usual.
