  1. Hi,
Im thirteen years old and i have a mower with a ohv Briggs and Stratton 18hp. I already pulley swapped, and rewired all the safety features. I usually pull around sleds with kids who are around 100-200 and we go off hills and jumps, I did what you showed in the video, i was wondering if i could run the engine for like 2 hours and be pulling weight at full throttle or would that be to much for the stock engine? Sooner the better so pls respond fast. Thank you ahead of time.

  2. i just did this yesterday 8-6-17.i have the same exact engine, using a wireless tachometer,i took it from 3300rpm to 3800rpm(a little more than i was going for).but using my gps as a speedometer,i was able to gain 1 mph, going from 5mph to 6 mph.pulley swap in near future.goal is 40mph!

  3. sometimes its better to just show people so they really know what can happen rather then not saying or showing them anything at all, I found it useful and appreciate the right knowledge that came with the demonstration. thumbs up from me.

  4. thanks,my 13.5 briggs is purrrring like a kitten, you idiots making stupid comments should be outside mowing your lawn, again thanks…

  5. like the vid thanks I'm about to start trying to make me one I have a old john deer 130 with little motor doesn't say what horse power it is lol

  6. Thanks for the warning. I was about to do it, but I wanted to see if it was safe or not. Being that it is not safe, I'm gonna leave the governor alone. 🙂

  7. OK. A ride on lawn mower is not a tractor. Also, please try and drink a little less red cordial before recording your stuff 😉 This is why you should need a license to access the internet.

  8. I think it's a good idea you showed this video, for one it shows the safe way to do it and second it gives you the opportunity to educate those that want to do it with the pros and cons of the altercation. Is just like guns, if people aren't educated about how they work and how dangerous they are, then a lot of kids with be leaning on their own and killing innocent people.

  9. UM IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING, DONT SCREW WITH IT. I WAS MESSING AROUND WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AN WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT by just playing with the governor.
LUCKLY I DIDNT BLOW ANY THING. MY POINT IS ABOVE

  10. has the governor anything to do with throttle galoping mine is going up and down in rpm when running not under load i have a 1996 12hp briggs on a murray is the spring to weak to compensate? please anyone help!

  11. I did this but just bent it straight up and down and then later on I figured I didn't want the risk of blowing up my engine so I bent it back down and now for some reason the governor won't move when I move the throttle back and fourth. Any suggestions on what I did wrong?

  13. mowers are ment to be aroud 3,000 rpm when ur mowing for 4 hrs ……not to be pulley swaped n revved up n down n held at the rev limiter like a fuckin Toyota….
