  1. Thanks for your correct information. Its the second time I could fix one of my tools. My Quattro 40 Lawnmower was the second tool.

  2. donyboy73 you are so good at repairing lawn mower engines and your instructions are excellent and very easy to follow. Thank you so much for all your help. Best.

  3. I inherited a mower from a past tenant and they mucked up the springs, leaving it in full throttle and sucking through so much gas. very handy information to have on hand. this helped to know ALOT. Thanks so much Dony! 🙂

  4. I have found the sears site for parts have a lot of great info on these engines . You can put you model # of the complete mower or just the engine . There are lot of engines that are used by craftsman so it may not be a sears engine you have but most likely you can find it. There also is a chat option I found a part for my 1961 3.5 engine tru the chat feature and I got the exact part I needed.

  5. you have great videos! if you were based near where I live in the states I would have no hesitations bringing any equipment to you. keep it up.

  6. Checked it and found no problem, The correct amount of oil was indicated. As soon as I get a chance I am going to do a compression check.

  7. Another well done video!
Question for you: When setting up a small engine, is there ever the need to use a tachometer to check engine speed? I'm sure you could do it "by ear", but I don't think I could…
    Thanks for a great channel!

  8. its from around 2006 so its had a few years of use, it was second hand when i received it, so you may be right, perhaps the piston rings are a bit ill and need replacing, along with a possible treatment to the bore ?? perhaps.

The carb has no adjustment, its a pulsa prime type, nothing can be done to it other than a clean up, and i did that with no change.

Its been a god send as i used to use a mains powered mower and that was just a pain in the bum lol 🙂

  9. Well i replaced and gapped the plug, the correct type for the engine.

I cleaned the carburettor carefully and made sure all passages and jets were spotless clean, i also replaced the diaphram gasket while i was there.

I washed the air filter and after it was fully dry i worked in 1 tea spoon of light oil, as the manual states.

The oil does not appear to go down.

It kicks out a few puffs of smoke when 1st started, but runs without smoke.

    No carb adjustments possible.

    Interesting 🙂

  10. Thanks donny 🙂

I have the same mower and i have noticed the sparkplug is allways black, is this typical?

Mower runs and starts ok, just interested 🙂

  11. Hi Donny. I have a Quantro engine that seems to have too much compression. Owner can not operate the recoil starter. Engine is very hard to crank with spark plug installed but operates normally with spark plug removed. Any idea? I have never seen this problem before now. Thanks.
