Chevrolet Corvette C2 | Buyer’s Guide

From its ground-breaking design to the range of small- and big-block V-8s that powered it, no model better symbolizes the beauty, athleticism and desirability of the Corvette than the second-generation C2. Hagerty Executive Editor Stefan Lombard recently spent some time with a 1963 Split-Window, and in this Buyers Guide he shows you not only what makes these cars so special, but what you need to look out for when you’re in the market.

Editor’s Note: Tilt steering was not a factory option, as mentioned by Stefan. Even magazine executive editors aren’t perfect!

  1. Narrow wheel wells, skinny wheels and tires, manual steering, manual brakes and all the horsepower of a new Kia. Not much of a "driving experience". I'll pass. At least on a C3 you can get a tire under it.

  2. Geezus Corvette knowledge 101….the 63 is a given, sure they are unique but that is also what makes it over exposed

  3. Lovely car but the coupe is imho not the version to go for.
I would rather buy a convertible (1965 max).

Besides, the C2's after 1965 are looking horrible because of the 'square inlet' on the hood and sidepipes.
