  1. Nice video ! I just didn't understand one thing – the exact use of the spring. When the speed increases, the flyballs go outward and the spring is compressed. Doesn't this in turn push the fork downward bringing back the flyballs to the original position. On first glance it appears that the spring tries to negate the outward or the inward movement of the flyballs.

  2. Nice video!! but i got a doubt while going through hartnell governor: why in the calculation of hartnell governor spring force is always taken in downward direction (even though spring elongates at low speed)? Is spring already in compression state?
