**Always follow the instructions in your repair manual when doing repair or maintenance work on Outdoor Power Equipment. Manuals can be found at the manufacturers website.**

To determine which side of the lanwmower blade to attach to the end of the engine crankshaft, find the edge of the blade that is sharpened to cut grass. The sharpened edge should point in the direction of engine rotation when the blade is attached to the engine crankshaft. Another method to determine which side of the lawnmower blade to attach to the end of the engine crankshaft is to find the edge that is bent towards one of the two sides of the blade. This bent edge will be opposite the sharpened side of the blade. Attach the blade so that the bent edge is pointing toward the mower or deck body.

  1. Recently bought a used self-propelled for $50 … finally used it today and I knew something was wrong. Kept having to go backwards over the part that wasn't cutting. Looked at your video then checked, sure enough it was on backward. Yard cuts easy now. Thanks

  2. This may be obvious for those of us that do this regularly but for the rest who may just be starting to do their own work nice tip.
