How To Fix A Craftsman Rototiller By Properly Adjusting Governor Arm

Bought this Craftsman rototiller used. It wasn’t working when I got it. After cleaning the carburetor, I got it to run but it didn’t sound right. Turns out that it was at a high RPM. Tried to adjust the governor arm according to online instructions but didn’t make a difference. Turns out the instruction didn’t apply to my machine. Finally fixed it.

  1. I have the same type, but my throttle butterfly stays wide open regardless of the lever position. Any idea/s?? Never-mind, I got it running. Apparently some stay wide open when not running & the governor pulls it down to idle. Thanks, take care from Tn.
