  1. Hi there.  I rebuilt my carb and snowblower runs but it only runs when the choke is half open.  Dies when I apply a load.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Miguel

  2. Don, I have 2 carbs that came off 2 MTD 10 hp. snow blowers that caught on fire and were put out before the engines were destroyed, but the plastic floats are partly melted. Question (1) I know it is difficult to tell without seeing the machines, but is it possible to rebuild carbs in this condition or would there be more damage inside that the eye can't see. #(2) what would cause engines to catch on fire, I have NEVER had it happen myself.

  3. I REBUILT MY TECOMSEH CARBEROTER, THERE WAS NO FLOAT NEEDLE SEAT IN IT.  MY SNOW BLOWER HAS BEEN WORKING FOR YEARS AND THE ONLY REASON I,M REBUILDING IT IS BECAUSE THE ROD BROKE AND I,M, GOING THROUGH THE ENGINE AN THAT'S WHEN I NOTICED NO SEAT WAS IN THE NEEDLE FLOAT  SECTION
I TRIED TO INSERT IT AND IT CAUSED THE FLOAT NOT TO BE RIGHT.

AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK?

  4. very nice of you to make these videos.  I watched quite a few of your videos and made it so much easier to rebuild the carb.  The snow blower now starts on first pull.  Thank you for making all the videos!

  5. hello donyboy my mower carb is leaking gas badly I replaced needle/clip/seat o ring, there was no needle clip thats why i tought it was wrong and bought the kit and still doing the same.

  6. hi dony do you have videos on rebiulding carb off 1998 briggs 16 hp vanguard horozontal shaft  carb # 809011  kit #809021 that wood be reel helpful thx harry

  7. I have learned a lot from watching your videos and have brought a couple of mowers back to life.Still having trouble with a poulan saw. thanks!

  8. hey I rebuilt the carb but don't know the screw settings air fuel mixture.ive askes u a few questions before and u haven't replied so I could use this if u could take time from ur busy schedule n help me out

  9. In attempting to to stop a fuel leak on a Toro snowblower, I rebuilt the very same carb with the same kit as used in your video. However, I still have a gas leak which appears is coming from around the bowl seal. I tried to adjust the float so that it would engage the needle at lower level of fuel but still have a drip when the engine is not running.  The float is metal and appears to be good (no fuel inside). Any thoughts on what else should be looked at?

  10. I have toro snowthrower 2c ccr 3HP and the only way I can get it to run is by putting fuel in the spark plug socket but it only runs for a few seconds. I cleaned the carburetor good and put it back together, but it still does the same thing. Any thoughts?

  11. Perry make sure the fuel line fitting on carb is not cracked the white plastic 90* fitting. I was having the same issue and took carb off and then noticed a crack in the plastic fitting. JFYI

  12. My 5 HP Tecumseh is not starting after cleaning the carb.  I noticed when I attempt to start it that gas is coming  out the air intake. (I have the filter off at this point).    Any suggestions.?

  13. 5 HP Tecumseh had 120 psi compression, now has decent spark after cleaning the coil contacts on flywheel and reseting coil distance to magnets.  Still no ignition, even after spraying starting fluid directly into engine spark plug opening or directly into air intake.   Suggestions?

  14. I wouldn't recommend doing this, but I had a new replacement float that came with a defective solder seam and after putting it on a low heat stove burner to dry it internally, it resoldered itself, never thought low would get that high.

  15. Dony. I have this engine on a roto-tiller. I took that carb heater shield off with the 3 screws. Mine does not have an air filter… It should correct? considering it's not used as a snowblower and dust will get kicked up during tilling. If it does need one do you know the part number?

  16. Hello and thank you for so many wonderful videos. Can you please give me the tool number for the tecumseh tool that the seat went on to be installled. Thanks

  17. Nice job! That machine looked ready for the scrapyard.
Have you ever cleened the muffler on a 2 stroke?
Mine is looking real black I imagine from running to rich/to lean because it bogs down when I engage snow?
I was told to soke the muffler in transmission fluid.
    Thanks for the share.

  18. It appears you made this video 5 years ago. I made a few phone calls for parts and they are no longer available. Can you confirm my findings or do you know parts that can be used in its place (#31840).Thanks

  19. Hi Donyboy73 gotta say first off thanks for sharing your knowledge and sharing your gift with everyone.
I have a craftsman tecumseh 5HP that uses 632107 carb and I was wondering if a 632334 carb would work on that engine.? Also the person I picked it up from removed the rubber cover and air mixture screw from the non adjustable carb completely. Would this cause the surging I am experiencing or could it be something else messed up in the carb?

  20. why do I have an extra gasket it's not a mini o ring from either needle adjuster but it's a washer about the same size as the mini o rings with about a cm hole in the center?

  21. To replace some old primer line, I found some rubber 5/32" ID Windshield Washer Tubing at Canadian Tire. It fits well on the primer bulb and the carb fitting. I also realised from these Internet videos that the primer bulb base can just be pried out of the metal cover. No need to remove all the engine head bolts that are holding the cover on!
Thanks for the videos, they are VERY informative.

  22. Really appreciate you taking the time to cover the position of the mixture screws once replacing them, watched some other videos hoping to find that info on how many turns out or in worked best for their machine so I could at least have a starting point for mine. Very nice video!

  23. Great videos I watched from part 1 to part 3 for the rebuild of the Tecumseh carburetor. The engine started to run for a little ,but gas was coming out, of it looks like above the bowl .What did I do wrong?
