    When I heard the magic words, "without any special tools" I think I squealed a little bit.

    I'm going to try fixing mine first, but if I must get a replacement, it's nice to know it's pretty easy to remove and replace. The inside of my clutch looks like it's all cast metal, rather than plastic separating the bearing channels. This is original equipment from a Briggs and Stratton equipped Monkey Wards mower, so pretty old. I recently had the deck repaired at the welder, rather than get a new one, because all the new ones look like the mounting for the front wheels are plastic. That can't last very long.

    Any idea what the diameter of the ball bearings is?

  3. Bad advice. That clutch is what holds your flywheel in place. Don't put anti seize on it. In fact put loctite on it if you put anything on it.
