  1. Thank you, sir. This is exactly what I needed to know. I have a feeling if I hadn't watched your video I'd still be fighting with it. 🙂

  2. Thanks Mark…Great video, great job to explain how to replace the pull cord. Setting tension correctly is really the key to make it work.

  3. Glad I could find this, my pull cord broke on my mower today and I've never replaced one before. But I bet I can right now, Thanks!!

  4. Got a 18 blade poulan chainsaw wont start takes 25 tries starts dies then take another 30 tires to start any advice fuel filter cleaned gaped the plug still not running

  5. I have the same pulley, and the spring let go inside of it. I have to take it apart and can't get the screw out of it. Is there a special way to do this?

  6. Thanks for the video and information. I had never done this before and had no clue what I was in for. I have a Troy-Bilt with a B&S 550-EX which is a little different from the Honda you show but the concept is the same and it worked perfectly. After buying the new pull cord ($4.50) from Lowes it took less than 15 minutes to change – disassembly to install. I even hummed the eHow tune as I was doing the work.

  7. Thank you. This worked perfectly and I spent just $4.99 on a generic cord and handle at HD instead of $20+ (Amazon, likely more at a supply store) on a new OEM assembly kit!

  8. I managed to follow all the steps but now the wings under cover fan out too quickly and lock up the mower so i cant pull any more. Does anyone know where i went wrong or what to dp?
