IN THE WORKSHOP – CUTTING A KEYWAY WITHOUT A KEYWAY BROACH

In The Workshop – Cutting A Keyway Without A Keyway Broach – A keyway broach is quite an expensive item, particularly if you buy a full set. In this video I show an alternative method of how to cut a keyway. I have used this method successfully in the past, but it takes quite a long time to do it. 1. Love your videos mate. Keep it up. You are the first channel I check for new videos when I get up. I've never been so fascinated about something haha.

  2. first that is brilliant sir what a great idea . you have mad skills buddy lol dont you have a friend with a arbor press so you dont have to buy one ???

  3. A very Clockwork Orange kinda machining operation.

Luckily 'Keyway Broaches', hand-crafted from the finest melted-down coke cans on AliOopExpress are only 99p for 8… free postage from LingWangMingPing in NorthWest SouthEastern China… only takes 4 yrs to arrive.

    Another excellent video.
I enjoyed it immensely, watching it on my phone while waiting for my parcels to arrive… again.

  4. Also, be careful not to let any chips fly into your mouth. As they can hurt very much when they're on their way out. :p

  5. You can lock the spindle by engaging the back gear without freeing the spindle pulley. If you wiggle the spindle eventually the gears will engage.
