Rebuild a Honda lawn mower carburetor – Honda GCV 160

I will show you how to clean and rebuild a Honda GCV160 carburetor. Honda carburetors need to be ultra clean, so if you have old gas or any varnish in the carburetor jets, it will fluctuate or surge. In this case, the engine oil was over-filled causing a lot of problems. Oil was leaking out of the governor, clogging the carburetor, and had saturated the air filter. I will show you how to clean up the Honda carburetor and get your engine running smooth.

  1. Great vid.. You got lucky Mon Ami you missed a few holes where your thumb was when you sprayed the nozzle. They are so small that they are easy to miss and it takes a very tiny wire to put in them. Also you missed the pilot jet which is under the phillips head screw On the top side of the carb. Nothing comes out of that hole but it can clog up and needs to be sprayed out with carb cleaner. I hope this info helps you in the future. ~!~!
