  1. Looks like the old filter has the wide part on the carborator side while the new one had the wide part on the gas tank side. Does it matter which direction the filter faces?

  3. 4 Years to respond to Shane?  Shane:  If there is no arrow on the new filter, Briggs & Stratton recommends placing the larger end towards the fuel tank.

  4. can someone please help me. my kohler command /john deere riding lawn mower wont start ive replaced the starter and the battery…..I don't think its getting gas to the carberator can you sugest what I need to do. if I pour gas in the carbarator it run till it runs out of the gas then dies please help
