  1. Half crank engines have the recoil at the front of the engine. Full crank engines will have the recoil at the rear of the engine as a rule. This is how we determine if it is a half or full crank engine
    hope this helps

  2. I have an Echo srm 230 and one time for the fun of it I was searching how much a cylinder cost…..$130 dollars, but a short block only cost $110? whats with that

  3. @smallengineshop A130000341 cylinder $121.44 from ereplacementparts

SB1061 short block from ereplacementparts $117.15

Why would someone get just a cylinder when a whole short block is cheaper than just the cylinder is what I'm wondering.

  4. @smallengineshop Yeah it should be, but I noticed on other sites that the short block only cost around $109 and the cylinder is more. Not too sure but I think it's a mistake, or else they just try ripping people off with the cylinder.

  5. You can tell if it's a full crank if the pull start is on the opposite side of the trimmer shaft. If it's on the same side as the shaft, then its a half crank. Great vid thumbs up!

  6. Homelite was a good brand when they were made in America basically anything pre 1990 after that Mexico and then Taiwan all the way down to Hong Kong and that's when a quality went in the garbage u see slave labor and third world countries don't have inishitive to make things right all they see is the quicker I get to finish the quicker I can leave which is not quality and that's why I say support America and buy echo there assembled in Chicago and parts made in Japan which is a whole lot better

  7. My 6 yr old ryobi SS80 wont run when i pull the throttle anymore and rather than adjust the carb i got an echo srm 225, very happy.

  8. toro also uses a full crank engine in their weed eaters and blowers, a commercial grade full crank engine, and i also have an echo srm 230 and a toro blower and an echo backpack blower
