Testing a Carburetor Fuel Solenoid on a Briggs & Stratton engine

Testing a Carburetor Fuel Solenoid on a Briggs & Stratton engine. This is a quick and easy test to do initially to test a solenoid. It will not tell you everything is working good inside. Some solenoids may be so quiet you can’t hear it. So beware of this while testing.

  1. Thanks Eagle Bill! Super quick way to diagnose a functioning fuel solenoid. Found mine wasn't working and traced it back to an unplugged connector.

  2. do all fuel solenoids click with this test, or do they come on after the engine is cranking…i have a couple good riding mowers that work fine but the solenoids do not click so i`m very curious when i will know if the solenoid isnt working since i cant hear it
