Troubleshooting 5hp Briggs and Stratton Tiller

Had to do some troubleshooting on the ole Briggs and Stratton tiller to do some tilling and gardening. Here is a basic of my troubleshooting process and how I fixed the problem. I had to do a victory stroll and dance cause I was so pumped that it worked, started the first time, and runs like a champ.

  1. I have an older tiller with the exact same problems you described at the first of the video. We believe it is the carburetor also. The problem is, you didn't explain or show anything about removing the carburetor??? It looks like it was in the center and near the back and beside something (the gas chamber)? Anyway, you skipped the steps on taking the carburetor off and pulling it off but hopefully I can figure it out. (Hey, don't say anything as I am a female and trying to figure this out for the first time. I am a pretty good handyman but I've never had to work on a tiller). Thanks, I will let you know how it goes.

  2. That was enjoyable. I think what makes this different is that you're such a good-natured guy. You are easy on yourself, and your sincerity comes through. Thanks for the clip. -Stan in Southern Calif.

  3. That's an air cooled motor that's NOT getting air cooling. That shroud and the fins it covers is the fan that cools it. Your going to burn it up without it.
