AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage – only slightly more violent. It’s a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on YouTube are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping – except that it doesn’t cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn’t cost you anything to click these links, and it’s a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

  2. FALSE ADVERTISING. I just got my p3000 today and the first thing I tested was my RV air conditioner. I let it run for a bit to warm up after filling with oil & gas. Then I connected it to my 30a service popup camper with a 10k btu A/C, it won't work no matter what I do, it trips the overload breaker on the thing every time! whether the fan is on or off, whenever the compressor cycles on it overloads. Funny thing is if I go and manually press the "reset" button on the generator with the AC already on it will idle up just fine and run the ac and compressor just fine at only 39% load! That is until it cycles off and on again then it overloads the gen again. I have tested the draw of my AC unit and it only takes 2400w to start up and uses only 1400w once running. There is no reason this unit shouldn't run my small size AC.

Tried calling B&S "customer support" because they plaster the phone number all over their box like they're proud of it and got some foreign lady with a thick accent (after a long wait time) who obviously knew NOTHING about small engines, let alone generators! After a polite, though waste of time of a conversation she finally referred me to a couple of local "authorized shops". Called both and the first didn't even work on generators, the second one the mechanic was so backed up he couldn't get me in to even see the unit for 3 weeks (though he was nice enough to hear out my situation on the phone and offer advice). His advice was to RETURN IT AND BUY ANOTHER BRAND!!! Lmao! And that's exactly what I plan to do! This is a very nice looking generator and has some very nice features, it's really disappointing that they DON'T PERFORM AS ADVERTISED. And their "customer support" is a joke!

  3. I still like Honda! I would consider Yamaha but I'm a Honda fan there product's are so good reliable quiet . I can deal with a higher price and possible Heavier weight depending on model for the reliability and quality of the product .

  4. I doubt anyone's ear can detect the difference from 55 to 57 Db .. Bottom line , both are very quiet. A Lexus Ls interior noise at 30 mph is 56 Db. (google for stupid facts #retired)

  5. I have the Champion 7000 watt remote start. I bought it refurbished for $500 with less than 1 hour run time. It has the 240 volt plug I need to power my inverter/charger and run my well pump. It also has a remote start key fob that is very handy. It is extremely loud but I put some boards around the sides facing my house and with the door closed is is barely noticeable. I have no nearby neighbors so that helps too. But I do love these inverter generators and I would like to get the Honda 7000i one day if I could afford it but i'll stick with what I have now and I've been very happy with it or the past 3 years. I do use non ethanol gas and sea foam in the gas tank and lines and that seems to keep it running smooth.

  6. I have a Honda eu3000is generator and I'm really disappointed in it, it only pushing my travel trailer with a 13,500BTU airconditioner for 30 minutes before it goes into overload mode and I have to reset every 30 minutes. ….. any advice, or suggestions, i even turned off my refrigerator and unplugged my microwave and still have the same issue, (goes into overload mode after 30 minutes. ….

  7. Would a small generator be good for camping to charge radios?
How long can they run? Several hours, 3 hours at a time before you to let it cool down?

  8. Good video, in NY most state parks have 2 generator hour times, like 9 to 11 and 5 to 8 or 9. Also if a generator is deemed unreasonably loud you may be asked to turn it off. That being said I guess it depends where you go maybe spend more to be totally covered.

  9. In application, you're likely to point the exhaust away for you and your neighbors. Maybe the 2000 would have been quieter if the exhaust was not bouncing off the 3000.

  10. You had the Yamaha exhaust output directly facing the Briggs.  The Yamaha exhaust was bouncing off the face of the Briggs causing more noise to reach the sound meter, and the Briggs exhaust was facing open air.  Not a fair test, but the Yamaha is still much more quiet and one of the best out there.  I've had my Yamaha for 11 years now and it's amazing.

  11. You should check out the new iGen series from Westinghouse. I just picked up the iGen2500 and its a great unit for half the cost of Honda and Yamaha.. and even a bit less than the Briggs & Stratton. They also make a 4500 watt unit for less than the honda.

  12. I don’t see the point in testing sound without a load. I mean who buys a generator to just let run? At least put around a 1200 watt load on it. Just my thoughts.

  13. Greetings – a quick question on the Yamaha 3000 generator you have. Does it look like the handles can be easily removed from the generator? We’re limited in vertical height for storage with our tow vehicle and if I can remove those until needed and transport it in our vehicle with the tonneau cover closed.

    Thanks,
    John

  14. LOL the paramotor flying over. I fly paramotors. It's amazingly fun. Love watching the generator reviews… Definitely helped with my decision in what to look for.
